THANK YOU HOLLY REYNOLDS
Coalition to discuss animal rescue, no-kill initiatives

New programs in animal rescue and no-kill initiatives are among the topics at

The Coalition of Louisiana Animal Advocates meeting on Saturday.

The annual fall meeting will include a discussion by Sharon Coleman, a member of the board of directors of Friends of the Animals Baton Rouge, on two innovative programs now in operation.

Dr. Greg Alberti, who pioneered Baton Rouge’s first spay/neuter clinic, also will address the new plans for the Baton Rouge no-kill community initiative.

The program started in Florida by Target Zero Institute and works to ensure animals are not euthanized unnecessarily. Alberti will discuss duplicating the process in Baton Rouge.

The coalition will be meeting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, Room 1212B.

The meeting is open to the public.

For more information on the coalition, visit www.colaa.org.

WINNFIELD NEWS!
GREAT news out of Winnfield! Animal cruelty investigation by Heart of Louisiana Humane Society, one of our members and board member, with support from local law enforcement and veterinarian, secured 11 counts, so far, of animal cruelty against an individual. Good work people...that's how to get it done! Sad news, and there always is in these cases, many of the dogs could not be saved due to their condition, but some were able to be saved. You guys ROCK!
